Whew, the hands-on part of my work at the Northeastern University Marine Science Center has started in earnest with five consecutive days of low-tide seaweed gathering on rocky shores in Massachussetts and Maine. I spent the weekend with my colleague Val in Lubec, Maine, the Easternmost point in the US, on the border with Canada.
